MS. TAN JYY MEI

Ms. Tan Jyy Mei is the founding partner of Messrs. JM Tan & Co and established the firm in January 2022. Her practice encompasses a wide range of legal areas, with a focus on corporate and commercial law and real estate transactions. She has extensive experience advising on mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures, both domestic and cross-border, across diverse industries such as insurance, banking, retail, manufacturing, mining, and automotive sectors. Jyy Mei has also played a key role in numerous corporate exercises, including conducting due diligence investigations and preparing submissions to regulatory authorities. Additionally, she provides valuable counsel on real estate transactional matters.

Jyy Mei began her legal career with Zaid Ibrahim & Co., the largest law firm in Malaysia and a first tier firm in banking and finance in Malaysia in January 2010. In Zaid Ibrahim & Co., she practised under the Corporate Commercial Practice Group, where she worked primarily on several large-scale cross-border corporate transactions and other corporate advisory matters. Subsequent to that, Jyy Mei joined a partnership in a boutique law firm, PW Tan & Associates in April 2014.

During her practice years in PW Tan & Associates, Jyy Mei had involved in advising clients on a diverse range of legal practice, ranging from corporate and commercial to conveyancing and wills drafting. She is also knowledgeable and experienced on advising start-ups and entrepreneurs as well as advising local and foreign artistes, artiste management and event companies for entertainment related legal matters. Besides, she had also advised and acted for local developers for their property development projects. Additionally, Jyy Mei has also assisted and advised one of the pioneer marine sand concession owners in Malaysia for their legal matters.
